What is neuroradiology?

Neuroradiology deals with the diagnosis and therapy of diseases of the nervous system including the brain, the spinal cord and the peripheral nerves.

Special technical expertise

At the Radiological Center Bad Homburg we offer you special technical expertise in the area of the nervous system, which includes the following areas:

  • Tumor diagnosis of the head and spine
  • Inflammatory CNS diseases (e.g. multiple sclerosis, neurosarcoidosis)
  • Neurodegenerative diseases (e.g. Parkinson's disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis)
  • Nerve compression syndromes (e.g., trigeminal neuralgia)
  • Diseases of the vessels supplying the brain (e.g. stroke, vascular stenosis due to arteriosclerosis, vasculitis)
  • Dementias (e.g. Alzheimer's disease)
  • Diseases of the CSF system (e.g. hydrocephalus, syringomyelia, CSF loss syndrome)
  • Neuroradiological advice on vascular interventions (e.g. stents, aneurysm coiling)
  • CT-guided interventions for minimally invasive pain therapy (e.g. root infiltration in a herniated disc (PRT), facet blockade)

With the help of our modern technological equipment, we can detect even the finest pathological changes in the brain, the spinal cord and the peripheral nervous system. In the diagnostic area, we work primarily with

magnetic resonance tomography and computer tomography in the field of neuroradiology. This means that diseases of the vessels supplying the brain can also be reliably diagnosed, in some cases even without a contrast agent.
